UPDATE ON NRCC (March 18, 2020)

Dear NRCC Family,

Just an update about what will happen at NRCC in light of the Covid-19 pandemic. These decisions were prayerfully made last night by your Leadership Council in order to comply with government health recommendations as well as the safety of all who worship and learn at NRCC. Please take a moment to read through our plan for at least the next two weeks.

Sunday mornings: We will move completely to an online worship service. This coincides with the governor’s order regarding the number of people in a gathering. We will do a Facebook Livestream (https://www.facebook.com/nrccog/) at 10am. FOR YOUR PROTECTION DO NOT COME TO THE CHURCH BUILDING. The goal is to keep everyone safe and healthy and still connect with God and with one another.

Noah’s Ark: In an effort to serve our community our Daycare is open on a week to week basis. We are following guidelines from Raleigh and the Onslow County Health Department.

Wednesday programming: There will be no Wednesday night programming in the building starting immediately. We are encouraging each of the small groups to find an online way to meet via Zoom, Google Hangouts, etc. We also encourage everyone to make use of RightNow Media. This online resource is FREE TO YOU, paid for by NRCC, and is the Netflix of Christian Teaching for all ages. Text RIGHTNOW NRCC to 41411 to open your own account.

Other activities: All other activities scheduled to occur at NRCC—both Church and outside group gatherings—have been cancelled until further notice. Nothing will be happening in the building except Noah’s Ark.

Church Office: Your Church staff is currently keeping hours in the office so we are still here at the Church. However, if things change, we will work from home. Of course, we are monitoring this as closely as possible.

Family Groups: We are currently working on having some folks in the church serve as Family Group Leaders. These folks will be contacting smaller groups of the congregation to check in with them during this season. Perhaps Family Group members can help deliver food or other supplies as needed to those in need. We will be working to assign the congregation as this aspect of our ministry gets launched.

We will get back together as soon as it is safe to do so. Because God is on the throne, I believe this situation will help us learn new ways to do things that will benefit NRCC in the long run.

Giving The financial cost of ministry continues at NRCC. Thank you for your continued faithfulness to tithe to this ministry. There are at least three ways to give:

     1) Mail. Use the US Postal Service to mail your offering to NRCC at 117 Wheeler Creek Rd., Sneads Ferry, NC  28460.

     2) PayPal. Remember to include New River Community Church of God in your "Family and Friends" and there will be no fees for you or the Church.           Otherwise your gift will be subject to PayPal's fees and the Church will receive less than you intend to give. There are more specific instructions on           the "Give Online" tab on this website.

     3) Bill Pay. You can use your bank's automatic Bill Pay to set up your tithe or offering on whatever schedule you choose.

Again, thank you so much for your continued faithfulness to this minisitry.

Above all, remember:

    1) You are deeply loved…by God and by your Church family.

    2) We want the best for all of NRCC. These decisions were difficult to make but we believe that they are the right decisions for such a time as this.

    3) As always, please reach out to the staff if you need anything. The Church phone is 910 327-6722. We are here to serve.

And remember: God is good…all the time!

In His Service,

Pastor Steve

Having trouble

Ephesians 4:32 (NIV2011) says, "Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you." I know I need to forgive...but how? Can We Trust The New Testament?

Click on this picture to check out this brief video. Here is a comparison of manuscript evidence for the New Testament compared to the manuscripts of other ancient works. Thank You God for Your reliable, trustworthy Word!

Now, you can go to the Children of Promise web page to sponsor a child. Tell your church and friends about this new opportunity.

We are excited about this easy option to sponsor children. As time goes by, we will offer more children who can be sponsored.

If you go to the web page and have any questions or want to sponsor a child with options not offered (from a different country, a certain age, etc.) simply call us and talk with us.

PRESS ON Campaign For the Future!

The race isn't won by those who start the race; it's won by those who finish the race. Paul wrote in Philippians 3:13-14:

Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.

PRESS ON is the theme of our three-year Stewardship Campaign (April 2017 - March 2020). Together we will persevere in our efforts to reach more people for Christ. We are raising funds to provide property and facilities for room for NRCC to grow. How will God use you to help the ministry of NRCC as we PRESS ON?

What is Apologetics?

The word apologetics comes from the Greek word apologia found in 1 Peter 3:15, "Always be prepared to give an answer [defense –apologia] to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have." Apologia is a legal term that simply means “defense.” Apologetics is a branch of Christian theology that is concerned with making a defense, or case, for the truth claims of the Christian Faith. The purpose of Apologetics is not to apologize for God but to present reasonable explanations for believing Christianity is true.

Choose Life tags are available NOW in NC!

As you may have heard, even though there was a big splash with the announcement that the 4th District Federal Court had reversed its decision about the legality of the NC Choose Life license plate, there have still been more steps required before manufacturing could begin.

The license plates are available for order through the NCDMV. Cost is $25 a year with $15 of that going to pregnancy care centers all around NC. This is a subtle but important message to our fellow citizens of how important human life is to Our Lord. Click the link below to apply.
